Common questions about the Business Phone
How fast can my team get started?
Business Phone onboarding is not open for self-serve signup yet. Contact us and we'll help you plan access, choose a number or port your existing one, and get ready to start calling from your browser.
What if my team works remotely?
Business Phone is built for remote and mobile teams. Invite team members, assign extensions, and let everyone call or text from the same business number using the web app, desktop app, or SIP desk phones.
What happens when nobody answers?
Calls can go to standard voicemail, an IVR menu, or optional AI Voicemail. AI Voicemail is voicemail only: it collects the message, asks clarifying questions, and summarizes what the caller needs.
Is AI Voicemail the same as Virtual Receptionist?
No. AI Voicemail runs only after a missed call or voicemail handoff. It does not answer live calls, route with AI, use tools, book appointments, or replace Virtual Receptionist.
Is there a desktop app?
Yes. Dialbox has desktop apps for macOS and Windows. We will share the right download links during setup. You can also use the web app from any browser on any device.
How does billing work for extensions?
$20 USD per Business Phone license per month. Add or remove licenses anytime. Business Phone can be purchased standalone or added to Virtual Receptionist and Assist.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel anytime from your dashboard. No cancellation fees, no phone calls required. Your number stays active until the end of your billing period.
Can I upgrade to Virtual Receptionist later?
Yes. Your number, contacts, call logs, staff, extensions, SMS history, and voicemail history carry forward. Upgrade when you want AI to answer live calls, qualify callers, route intelligently, and book appointments.
Can I change my phone number?
Yes. Search by area code, preview available numbers, and activate a new local number ($19.99 one-time) or upgrade to a toll-free 800/888/877 number ($25/mo) directly from Settings.
Does Dialbox work with my existing PBX?
Yes. You can use SIP desk phones with Business Phone. Virtual Receptionist can also transfer to external phone systems like Zoom Phone or RingCentral by dialing the main number and entering the extension automatically.
